Half Screen bug on ATI Radeon cards after Xorg7 Debian update.

(2006-08-01) Logré recuperarme del problema gracias a la versión 6.5 de los drivers Mesa que pude instalar del repositorio experimental de Debian. Mas información en esta entrada.

One of the interesting things about using Debian unstable is you can test new software and suffer its maturity process. A couple of weeks ago, my last apt-get update a brand new version of Xorg, X11R7.0 or 7.0 for short. The new version also updated my ATI Mobility Radeon driver with the free version of it which had a little bug. During 3D display the image is halfway out of the monitor to the left wheter you have dual head configured or not. This bug is identified and fixed and will be shipping with the 6.5 version of the Mesa due to be released March 31st. I guess we will have to wait a little longer to have it as a Debian package. Meanwhile, those of you who feel naturally inclined to play with your boxes can download and compile it from the CVS (plus all the necesary libraries needed…).
